OUR BACKGROUND

At age 12 a Civil war engulfed Liberia 🇱🇷 With the fear of being captured and turn into a child soldier and family members being killed, at 4:00am approximately we decided to run for our lives in the midst of repeated sounds of gunfire and flying bullets, Grandma and I flee into the bush with many others fleeing into different directions.

Our journey was steep, slippery and daisy for we had no clue of where we were heading, but just had to run for our lives. Due to the poor health of grandma we journeyed for 2 days with no food or water. Finally we got to the boarder at a river called Cavalla in north of the Nimba range in Guinea 🇬🇳 the river also boarder Co’te D’Ivoire in the south.

The crowd there was massive with only two wooden canoe 🛶 to convey the mamon crowd to the other side. In some occasions the canoe got over loaded and it capsized’ many were drowned but were later rescued.

God saw us through, Grandma  and I were able to make it to the other side and reunite with our Ivorian family in the town of Deboke.

We settled in Deboke for a year, grandma’s health got deteriorated and she died and was buried there. Life got worse for me and I decided to move in order to survive.

Having survived all the rigorous and traumatic experience, I traveled through Countries in Africa and saw Africans in Despair, Starving, Diseased, Malnourished, agged people with no one to care for them, Destitute and Homeless people addicted to various substances.

Many have lost hope in life, many needed financial assistance to get through various challenging situations .

Those addicted to drugs felt they had nothing to live or hope for, but the truth is these addicts could be provided with counseling, re-habitation, and help them and others become productive citizens to the society.

I was moved by all these and I pray that some day God will give me the capacity and ability to provide succour or help in whatever way and reach out to these Africans that are struggling.
